Pastor Manisha Dostert

Because we believe that the Church is one, we are delighted to have this belief embodied in the form of Pastor Manisha, a Lutheran pastor from the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, who is serving as our associate rector.  She hails from Durham, North Carolina, where she and her husband, Troy, spent (too) many years getting their graduate degrees from Duke University (his: Ph.D. in Political Theory; hers: Master’s in Divinity).  Pastor Manisha also has a B.S. in Biology from Penn State and worked at Duke as a lab researcher studying sickle cell disease before God called her into ordained ministry.  She is also the mom of a very, VERY rambunctious kid named Miles.

Pastor Manisha has had a lot of cool experiences in youth ministry, Christian Education and worship.  She is the pastoral liaison to our Children’s, Youth, and Young Adult Ministries, as well as to the Pastoral Care Ministry Team.   She enjoys talking about God, the Church, discipleship, worship and about justice and race issues—she is kind of geeky in that way.

Pastor Manisha loves sweet tea (it’s a Southern thing), hangin’ with God’s people, and hearing a good story (especially if it is true and it’s yours); and she loves the Lord.

You can email to Pastor Manisha at associate@ststephenstroy.org
