The mission of the Furniture Bank is to improve the living conditions of Oakland County residents in need by collecting usable furniture and appliances and distributing these household items on a referral basis. It is the only organization in SE Michigan that distributes home furnishings to families and individuals in crisis, without charge. For over 35 years they have helped people turn an empty house into a home so they can focus on steady employment and self-sufficiency. The Furniture Bank plays a crucial role in providing over 2000 families annually with the household items necessary for a stable home environment - chairs to sit in, a stove to cook on and a bed to sleep in!
