Bound Together

Bound Together is an organization that assists school age children in Pontiac, and has been serving the children of the neighborhood, Crofoot Elementary School, Pontiac Academy and other schools since 1993.  Bound Together's mission is "Feeding Children in Mind, Body and Spirit" and it accomplishes this through:

 

St. Stephen's had been a supporting partner of Bound Together since its inception.  Each year, a portion of the Outreach budget is given to the Bound Together Ministry.  In past years, parishioners have provided tutoring support to the children; the Sunday school classes have contributed school supplies; and the Youth groups have organized fund raising events.

 

This year St. Stephen's has supported Bound Together in many ways.  We had a gift drive to collect adult gifts for the children of Bound Together to wrap and give to their parent or guardian; we included Bound Together in our giving tree to help the children who attend there enjoy a Christmas they may not have had; the Senior High students collected school supplies to donate to Bound Together and also raised $140.00 at the Spring Luau last April.  Along with this we gave $1,000.00 from our annual budget to help with their needs or wants.  Reverend Barbara Frye, who is in charge of Bound Together, has been overwhelmed with gratitude for all we’ve done for them this year.  The pictures are from the wrapping party and the kids having fun at their Christmas party.
