Rev. Jonathan C. Sams

Jonathan has been Rector (aka "pastor") of St. Stephen's since 1991 after having served as a Youth Minister and Parish Priest in Chicago and Northern Indiana since his ordination in 1966.  He graduated from Oberlin College and Nashotah House Seminary.  He and his wife Nancy are the  parents of six children.  In his spare time he hunts, fishes and plays the guitar.

Jonathan's personal priorities for his ministry include:

• Worship and preaching that are both fun and faithful

• Helping people to discern their personal calling and ministry

• Ministry to newcomers

• Building community among diverse people

• Music...from Gregorian Chant to the Blues
