Young Children with ALL their sounds and wiggles are very welcome in our church! We offer a variety of activities to support children’s engagement during the service. Activity bags for young ones can be found along the walls in the back of the church. A comfortable chair and soft space can also be found there. Sunday school activities are also available; please let one of the Greeters know when you arrive to the service.
Programs and Activities:
St. Stephens is participating with the Diocese and nearby churches in a program of joint monthly events on a rotating basis. Merging our programing for these kids will be enriching and enable us to continue providing special outings and pilgrimage/mission trips.
Outreach Projects:
Throughout the year, we do a variety of outreach projects such as food collection for Lighthouse and blessing bags for the homeless are projects they have spearheaded for the church. Children and youth are encouraged to participate.
We organize a trip for our high schoolers every few years. In the past, our High Schoolers have made pilgramages to Puerto Rico, New York, Amish Pennsylvania, Colorado and the Dominican Republic. While on the trips, the youth perform service projects, and learn about church history.
Youth & Young Adult Formation
Acolytes are key in making our worship happen! They assist the clergy and worship leaders by lighting candles, carrying the cross, and helping to set the table for Communion. Third and fourth graders are invited to apply! Check with the clergy for more information.
