Ash Wednesday

February 18th

Have you sat in church and wondered about some of the things we do? Why do we make the sign of the cross? What is the “Vestry”? What do we believe about the Bible, hell, or the power of prayer?

Episcopal 101 is for you! Whether you’re new to The Episcopal Church or have been around for a while, join us for rich conversations about our faith, traditions, and governance.

All questions are welcomed and encouraged!

Imposition of Ashes @12pm

Eucharist with Imposition of Ashes @7pm

Ash Wednesday marks the start of Lent, a 40-day period of prayer and fasting before Easter, observed by receiving ashes on their forehead in the shape of a cross, symbolizing repentance, mortality, and devotion to God, often accompanied by the phrase "Remember you are dust, and to dust you shall return". It's a solemn day of reflection, focusing on spiritual discipline, confession, and preparing for Christ's resurrection, with ashes made from last year's Palm Sunday palms.
